So I was thrilled that Lesley Stahl of "60 Minutes" was having none of it when the dysfunctional duo were recently interviewed--it was to be Trump first and then he would bring in Pence. But as you know, Trump cut the interview short, whining about his treatment. If you've noticed, it's always the women journalists who are "unfair" to him.
And when Stahl talked to Pence, she let him have it; to CBS News' credit, this wasn't part of what went on the air--it was later released in audio and print forms. What Stahl told Pence was that he and the president had insulted "60 Minutes" by not answering their questions. Their responses for the television taping were exactly the same as their campaign speeches, meaning rhetoric without substance.
Which has long been my evaluation of Mike Pence: A smooth sounding robot, utterly insincere. As the legitimate news media is continually under attack from this administration, journalists fear for their jobs and wouldn't have called out Trump and Pence's pranks, at least to their faces. But I'm so glad that Lesley Stahl did.
