I call your attention to a book O'Reilly wrote titled "Pinheads and Patriots," with Barack Obama and B.O. pictured on the cover. The latter B.O. is the only one of the two who stinks and is spinning in that muck today.
It was only this year that I got around to seeing the 2004 film Kinsey, starring Liam Neeson and Laura Linney. The disc of extras has a small revelation: the movie was shot in part at Fox studios, which I didn't think had anything to do with the godawful Fox Television Network. But it did, and O'Reilly was reportedly angry that Kinsey was being made--he called sexual behavior researcher Alfred Kinsey a "sexual deviant" or something to that effect. Oh, the irony! (Please explain to the songwriters of Alanis Morissette's 1995 hit "Ironic" the definition of the word.)
A news segment about O'Reilly's sacking via the "Democracy Now!" radio show today was followed with a clip of Elvis Presley's "He Touched Me." That's pretty tacky, I thought.
But following the station break, host Amy Goodman explained the reason for using that song. She said that some of the advertising void on O'Reilly's show (over 70 advertisers have exited since details emerged of Fox paying off the women who refused his advances) has been filled by ads for Elvis' gospel albums.
According to the New York Times, Fox bought out the predator's contract to the tune of $25 million. Crime pays! Take it from Bill O'Reilly.
