The weird thing about them is that they say their bagels are "the best bagels east of
New York."
Last I checked, Seattle is west of New York, unless you want to go all the way around the earth in the other direction to avoid some left turns or something. Using my search engine, I found a couple of columns that said the intention of Blazing Bagels is to make a
"memorable" statement.
I'm thinking that their marketing strategists didn't work hard enough before settling on this memorably perplexing phrase--obviously, the favorite all-time ad campaign of these marketers is the one featuring that lame line from 1980s pop culture: "Where's
the beef?"
