Meanwhile, the conceited one won't concede, naturally.
There's a circus ready to unfold at the January 6th pity party determined to reject the results of the election that Biden won by more than seven million votes and it isn't going to be pretty. Additionally, with Trump finding overt ways to encourage his misinformed misfits to "take a stand," the atmosphere is ripe for violence. And even if physical blows are avoided, the current president's antics are being gobbled up by an overweight cult-like throng who believes the vote tally that began way back on November 3rd is illegitimate. Those people are in an alternate, delusional reality; they are damaging our country and with midterm elections just two years ahead, that partisan road is a minefield.
It's said that Senator Hawley is a legal scholar, so he's obviously causing a ruckus for other reasons than the phony election integrity he is projecting. Thinking of running for president in 2024, sir? Need to get your name out there early? It's a tacky, cynical ploy, sir. The many Republican legislators still aligning themselves with Trump long after he was defeated at the polls reveals their addiction to self-promotion, rather than service to our country or respect for the constitution and rule of law. Sure, scam your followers even more than you already have with fundraising that never stops. These GOP hacks are clearly not concerned about the future of the party as much as their own individual political lives. Everyone for themselves! What a shameful and transparent charade.
All of this is frightening for our democracy and the safety of our nation. You can make a difference, Mr. President. Give it up.
