What is it that Samuel Alito doesn't understand about a woman's prerogative to control her body and reproductive health? Perhaps this inhumane "justice" understands yet he simply doesn't care; in a typically self-righteous statement, he said that the opinion of the public shouldn't affect the work the Supreme Court is doing. While Alito referenced laws from the 1600s, recent polls consistently show that anywhere from 65 to 80 percent of Americans believe that Roe vs. Wade should not be repealed. It's a 50 year precedent! Remember the confirmation hearings when Neil Gorsuch ("I accept the law of the land") and Brett Kavanaugh ("it's settled law") indicated they weren't looking to alter Roe vs. Wade? They were clearly lying under oath. Isn't this perjury?
I'm starting to believe that whomever leaked this plan should be commended on the order of what Daniel Ellsberg did when he published the Pentagon papers. Because 65 to 80 percent of the American public needed to be tipped off about this cowardly decision ahead of time. If not, this Dark Ages deed would have been announced on the final day of the legislative session this summer...just in time for the merry Alito and his Four Torpedoes to skip town.
