Once again, most Republicans didn't have the moral fiber to find the dangerous ex-President guilty--this time for inciting the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. The disappointing result of his second impeachment trial might have been an early prediction, but that doesn't make it right.
And that's all I feel like saying, except that the GOP loves sucking Trump's finger. Or to put it Jimmy Kimmel's way, Republicans continue to prove that most of them would gladly eat the hair out of Trump's shower drain rather than get on his bad side (whatever that may be). Among my least favorites lately: Wisconsin's bizarre Ron Johnson and the always two-faced senator from South Carolina, Lindsey Graham. Just hours after the riot at the Capitol, on the very floor of that building, Graham lied through his teeth and said about his relationship with Trump, "it's been a helluva ride...I hate for it to end this way...count me out!" Yeah, sure, Lindsey. The failure of so many to hold our 45th President accountable for almost everything continues to be reprehensible.
News reports say that the Supreme Court has been sitting on Trump's taxes because when he was in office, he was immune to scrutiny. But that's over, so here's hoping the tax fraud cases in New York will proceed before long. Litigation James--you go, girl! Cyrus Pounce--you go, boy!
