Ultimate Albums--from the '50s to the Present

Here's my batch of around 500 spectacular albums worth owning. For now, I am going to list just a few favorites for each year. How does one rank, say, 50 records annually in a meaningful way? Some can do it, but I can't.
Instead, just ten or less from each year gives me a better shot at evaluating what they really mean to me.
Although no great critic, I know what I like.
