I've been drifting toward 1971's Hunky Dory as my favorite Bowie album, although Aladdin Sane is close (it's certainly higher octane). Ziggy Stardust may have been a bit over the top, but it sure rocks and invokes smiles--"Hang On to Yourself" ought to be all over Classic Rock radio. I borrowed 2002's Heathen from the library recently and was surprised how good it was.
