In one of her rare negative comments, my wife Gina noted that downtown Olympia stores consist of either one of those smokeless vapor places or a tattoo shop (is that shop? House? Brothel?). Indeed, that's depressing.
Whatever happened to manners and decorum, anyway? I'll give you an example of both sides, starting with a young girl who walked right in my path at the library the other day. Kids learn manners over time, but this one isn't going to develop proper behavior any time soon. Her mom was there and fully present (she didn't have her nose stuck in a device) and didn't say a word to correct the child.
On the other hand, I heard another parent talking about her 15 year old and what a wizard he was at Calculus; she said that he's already gone well beyond her own knowledge. Yet the parent noted that, "when you're really good at something at that age, you think you know it all." She said that she was going to hold him back with his math a bit because, "he's got a long way to go with his social skills." What great parenting!
So what kind of upbringing did Donald J. Trump have? Are U.S. Presidents supposed to call their adversaries "crooked" or "S.O.B.s" or "Rocket Man" in public speeches? I think not. This President continues his dangerous, childish ranting, so lacking in decorum. No self-editing capabilities. And faulty guidance during his upbringing, apparently.
