The most moving thing I've heard on the radio lately happened the other night as the Detroit Tigers clinched the American League Central title, and Tigs' manager Jim Leyland met with reporters.

Leyland was pretty choked up, thanking Detroit fans for their support in these harrowing economic times. He was tearful when talking about the financially crippled regional (not to mention national) population, saying something like, "We think about them everyday." Geez, it made me tear up to hear someone who cares so much.

Can you image stone-faced Senator Mitch McConnell getting that emotional about anything? Well, maybe we'll see it if the Republican Minority Leader doesn't succeed at what seems to be his only nagging commitment--seeing that President Obama is defeated in 2012.
